Anthony Newton

Anthony Newton is a concert pianist and church organist and has been musical director at St. Paul’s International Lutheran Church since February 2006.  Mr. Newton made several concert appearances, performing in many of the major New York City concert halls including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Steinway Hall and Alice Tully Hall and well as performing around France and Germany.  Along with being a very active concert artist, Mr. Newton also expresses great joy in teaching music to children, fulfilling a demanding schedule of piano students at St. Paul’s group piano program and in his private studio.  He is Adjunct Professor at Queens College, teaching piano, piano master classes and chamber music at the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music.  Mr. Newton was President of the Associated Music Teachers League, Inc. from 2003-2005 and is currently chairman of A.M.T.L.’s annual Winter Musicales at Queens College.  In addition, he is the founder and director of the Young Artists Piano Showcase, which gives young pianists, through audition, the opportunity to perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
